RAS strives to advance innovation, education, and fundamental and applied research in Robotics and Automation. Robotics focuses on systems incorporating sensors and actuators that operate autonomously or semi-autonomously in cooperation with humans. Robotics research emphasizes intelligence and adaptability to cope with unstructured environments. Automation research emphasizes efficiency, productivity, quality, and reliability, focusing on systems that operate autonomously, often in structured environments over extended periods, and on the explicit structuring of such environments.
RAS provides aid in promoting close cooperation and exchange of technical information among student members with the demonstration of programmable hardware to have hands on experience about ‘ROBOTIC SURGERY’.
Students from any Technical Universities / Engineering Colleges of Tamilnadu can participate.
- Robotic and Automation,
- Robotics surgery in medical application
- A live demo of Robotic device used for the training program will be presented, which will provide hands on experience to the participants
There is a course fee of Rs.900/- for IEEE Student members and Rs.1000/- for non- student members. The fee includes course kit, tea and lunch. The number of seats is limited to sixty and the participant will be chosen on a first-come-first-serve basis.
The workshop has a theoretical exploration about the Robotics, modeling software, embedded systems, architecture’ hardware, proposed to be held on 12th October 2012. The program will be for one day with two sessions theory, each of maximum two hours and a practical session of live demo of machine interface hands on training, for the duration of 5 hours.
